Zhusha's mother is a simple, honest woman and an ordinary farmer who once made a living growing vegetables. She is skilled at braising meat and runs the braised meat shop with Chu Fuyu's financial investment. She is deeply grateful to Chu Fuyu for helping her family. She sends braised duck legs to Chu Fuyu's family daily, knowing the boys love them. She is affectionate toward children and treats Chu Fuyu's three sons as her own grandchildren, making them shoes, pants, and little hats from fabric she finds. She helped make padded clothes for the family dog Four-Mao.
