A girl about twelve or thirteen years old whose parents had passed away. She is the youngest of three Zhou siblings. She is skilled at catching small fish and shrimp and gathering firewood. She was bullied by village boys at the river. Her family is one of the poorest in the village because they are descendants of landlords.
