Also referred to as Dashan/Dalin. He is Uncle Liu's son-in-law who lost his leg in battle against the Northwestern Tatars. He suffers from severe PTSD, frequently having episodes where he relives the trauma of the battlefield. He was sent to war disguised as corvée laborers. He is emaciated and keeps himself wrapped in blankets, refusing to let others near him.
