A villager whose ox was killed during the refugee attack. He and his wife refuse to share the roasted beef from their ox with other villagers who helped carry the carcass. He argues that the beef is their life-saving food and they would die without it. He has fewer children—only one son and two daughters—plus an elderly mother.
