Zhong Lele is a delicate young woman from Beijing who appears to be a romantic rival of Lin Xun. She is arrogant and fashionable, wearing a brand-new wool coat, furry gloves, and stylish leather shoes bought at Beijing's largest department store, completely unsuitable for the cold northwest climate. She calls Huo Yanzhou Yanzhou-ge and shows obvious affection toward him. She is hostile toward Lin Xun, displaying disdain and attempting to outshine her.
