The son of Zhao Hengjiang. He works as a laborer digging canals in the provisional settlement near the iron mine. He refuses to accept that his father died in the flood and repeatedly tries to get help from the imperial relief troops. He is persistent and stubborn like his father, which earns him resentment from other exhausted miners.
