An old bachelor also referred to as Old Zhang. He had already paid 2,000 yuan in bride price for Yu Yao. He was known to have beaten a wife to death in the past. He chased after Yu Yao when she ran away and tried to claim her as his wife. He was kicked by Liang Hui and ultimately lost out when Hao Lizhi accepted more money from Liang Hui.
