He is strict about Academy rules and discipline, carrying a Disciplinary Ruler. He handed out School Rules for transcription and explained the academic schedule. He mistakenly reprimanded Su Lu for what he thought was doodling but was actually careful class notes. He appointed Ma Qianli as the temporary Zhai Leader.
