Zhang Wuyue is a robust and sleazy-looking thug who was imprisoned for attempting to accept money to kill someone. Unlike his companions, he has somewhat of a conscience because his parents are seriously ill, which is why he agreed to the job. When Shen Mingtang offers to help find a doctor for his parents in exchange for his cooperation, he immediately agrees despite being stunned by her request. He is described as having given up hope for his and his parents lives while in cell, crying bitterly, but Shen Mingtang's offer reignites his hope. He is the one who recognized Shen Mingtang as the young lady who had stabbed his companion in the thigh with a knife the previous night.
