The brigade leader of Bali Village. He is the father of Zhang Tiezhu. He initially went back on his word regarding Ye Xiu'e's barefoot doctor application, possibly because he wanted benefits. He later begged Ye Xiu'e to save his choking son and publicly promised to approve her application.
