A man whose wife died after being subjected to cruel bloodletting by his mother. He initially seeks violent revenge but is persuaded by Chen Suihuan to report the crime to the police. He later agrees to act as a middleman for black market transactions, risking labor reform. He has a young son whom he entrusts to a childhood friend's wife and pleads with Chen Suihuan to care for his son if he dies.
