A young girl, daughter of one of the Duchess's younger sisters, here for a short stay. She appeared mute but actually was not—she had witnessed her stepmother Madam Hu strangling her grandmother and was threatened into silence. She had a high fever as a child which was said to have caused her muteness. She is afraid of Madam Hu.
