The original character Lu Yan transmigrates into. Eldest son of Yun Ai, born to a concubine who was a maid accompanying Yun Ai's deceased wife. He lost his mother before age six and was unloved and neglected by his father and stepfamily. He passed the provincial and metropolitan exams but was betrayed by his transmigrated sister Yun Shu and confined, causing him to miss the palace exams. He died tragically without achieving his dream of entering officialdom.
