An elderly woman also referred to as Da Niang, who lives in a shabby earthen house with her husband Danye. She helped Wei Tingchun and Xue Ying when they were injured and feverish, preventing them from sleeping in the snow. She is curious and admiring of Xue Ying's refined appearance, mistaking him and Wei Tingchun for a runaway bodyguard and young master pair. She has a vivid imagination, comparing them to a doomed pair from East Village who drowned. She is kind-hearted, airing out the bearskin cloak for them and eagerly helping them prepare for the lantern festival.
