A young man who moved into the building downstairs a month ago, only the same age as Cang Xia but already had a child. He fell into depression possibly due to neighborhood gossip or life pressures. During a depressive episode, he choked his child until it stopped breathing, causing severe brain damage. He was beaten up by the child's mother and her family, hospitalized, and reportedly tried to slit his wrists twice. His own family is reluctant to take him back. He was discharged from the hospital just before the story events and was planning to move because the landlord feared he might cause another death.
