Yi Ran is a member of the arts committee at Taoli High School. She is nearly in tears of gratitude when Zhong Yao volunteers for the blackboard display, as she would otherwise have to do it alone. She offers to buy Zhong Yao milk tea for a week as a reward, but Zhong Yao only accepts one cup.
