A pale-faced, slender young man from the Yanjia family, a former Qing dynasty Hanlin scholarly household that once managed the royal library. Though the family had declined, their cultural and ancient book heritage remained deep. He wore a faded blue long gown and suppressed coughs. He brought his entire fortune in land deeds and old-style bound books to the auction, eventually exchanging half his land deeds for a Song Dynasty Shuowen Jiezi dictionary and later offering the family's complete book collection plus heirloom warm jade to bid for the Purple Gold Dragon King Ginseng.
