Also called Uncle Yan, he was Yan Fengru's father's full-blooded younger brother and a hunter. He was about ten years younger than Yan Fengru's father and five or six years younger than Old Master Lü. He rescued Old Master Lü from a ravine after he fell and was severely injured, and they quickly became sworn brothers. He later went into the mountains to hunt and never returned, presumably dying among wild beasts and deadly predators.
