A middle-aged man in a red official robe who rescued Li Tingyuan from Guo Fan. He is the younger brother of Great Scholar Xue Qinghong. He acted on someone's request (implied to be Cui Zhuo) to help Li Tingyuan. He claimed to have Li Tingyuan's late father's belongings to return as a pretext to escort her away from the dangerous situation. He was respectful and kind in his demeanor toward Li Tingyuan.
