Also referred to as Master Xuanfeng, he is the leader of the sect. He is serious and sharp-eyed, stroking his beard when deep in thought. He is concerned about the rampant evil cultivators and a potential traitor lurking within their sect. He takes charge of investigating the traitor and personally travels to Penglai Sect to arrange Song Zhi's engagement. He is described as anxious and sometimes impatient with Zhang Silin.
