Also known as Widow Xu. A cannon fodder character in the book. Her husband (Jianguo) used to work in the factory and is now deceased. She has a son and lives with a fierce mother-in-law and incompetent brother-in-law. She fell in love with Qiao Song who boasted about being studious. She had an affair with Qiao Song after he drank drugged water. Later moved to the educated youth site with her three children.
