Also known as Xu You Qing, he is the third child of Sanshui's mother. He is honest, tall, and sturdy with decent features but a hint of arrogance in his eyes. His family was previously very poor but became better off after he dug up a ginseng root and sold it for silver to build a house. He is described as dull and tongue-tied, unable to think of much to say during his meeting with Xu Ruyi.
