An older brother, only a year or two younger than Xie Yushu. He and his younger brother Xiu Wei are orphans from Hongxi Town who lost their parents years ago and later their grandmother. After their grandmother's death, their aunt and uncle seized their property and tried to force Xiu He into an undesirable marriage. He ran away with his younger brother and had been living in the abandoned compound for months, surviving on wild fruit and fish. He is hardworking, grateful, and timid but responsible.
