Gu Tang's grandfather, a veteran general of Great Liang. He has suffered several defeats at the hands of the Xiongnu leader Left Virtuous King Xiu Tu. He also gives lectures at Guan Yun Academy when he has free time, though his busy political duties prevent him from coming often.
