Duke Xie, father of Xie Zhuoguang. He is furious upon learning of his son's scheme and attacks Xie Zhuoguang with an inkstone paperweight. He recalls his own past defiance of imperial orders to marry Xie Zhuoguang's mother and warns his son to treat Yu Mingyao well.
