A man in his forties who appears much older due to his worn condition. He lives in the cattle shed and is a member of the Black Five Categories, making him a reviled outcast. He was sent down along with other sent-down youths. He is thin, has rough dark skin, and wears patched clothing. He feels he has nothing to offer Gu Zuozuo in return for being saved and resolves to make it up to her in the future.
