A eunuch who serves in the imperial palace. He is tasked with delivering gifts from Emperor Xuanyuan Ling to Shen Qing, including a large chest filled with luminous pearls and a small box containing several porcelain bottles of tonic. Xiaozai is cautious and respectful, not daring to ask Shen Qing to come outside and instead entering her quarters himself. He struggles to explain the purpose of the tonic bottles due to palace etiquette constraints, nearly blushing when he reveals they were specially ordered by the Emperor. He is referred to as Eunuch Xia by Shen Qing, who thanks him politely for the gifts. After delivering the items, he quickly leaves the room once Shen Qing maid Chunhua takes the box.
