Xia Mingyu's deceased father. He had used his connections to help Qiao Hongye join the army. He fell seriously ill after the river incident and died the day after Xia Mingyu's wedding. Qiao Hongye did not attend his funeral, pretending not to know about it, and went straight to the military camp.
