Male protagonist or supporting character. A member of the Wu family, whose family were rural gentry and landlords but never exploited common folk. His right leg is injured and he uses crutches. His parents, elder brother, and sister-in-law were forced to their deaths during political campaigns. He harbors hatred toward the Zhao family due to Zhao Dongsheng's testimony that contributed to the Wu family's downfall. He is cold and stoic but has a soft heart underneath. He has started paying closer attention to Wen Nuan after she saved Wu Xingzhou twice.
