The elder Wu brother, a naval officer who was called away on an emergency military mission and missed the wedding. In the original novel, he was martyred in a naval battle. Shen Su was originally supposed to marry him but refused due to finding him dull and boring. He is currently stationed in Yacheng defending the country.
