Wu Liyi is a renowned film director in his forties or fifties with a baby face that makes him appear younger. He has directed only three films, all featuring Mrs. Lu (Wan Renni), and created box office records with his work. Wu Liyi is proud, eccentric, and dismissive of others, including entertainment industry stars. He criticizes popular young actors for lacking skill and skilled actors for poor appearance. Despite his talent, he is difficult to work with, and many who tried to seduce him with special methods were rejected. Wu Liyi despises Lu Lihai, believing he stole Wan Renni, and initially planned to mock Lu Youze for being Lu Lihai's son.
