The father of Wei Mingzhao and Wei Nanxun, and the head of the Wei family. He initially wanted to force an abortion on Wei Mingzhao to protect the family's reputation but was persuaded by his wife Wang Shi. He agreed to the arrangement of having Wei Nanxun marry the Crown Prince as a concubine alongside Wei Mingzhao, despite some ethical hesitation. He confined Wei Nanxun in the West Garden with guards to prevent her from seducing the Crown Prince.
