Wei Mu is the mother of Wei Changzhi and grandmother of Zhuangzhuang. She is in her fifties, exhausted from caring for her grandson, and resents Zuo Cao for not helping with chores. She favors her grandson deeply, treating him as the 'apple of their eye'. She is exploitative, expecting Zuo Cao to perform all domestic work despite being a guest. She is quick-tempered, insulting Zuo Cao and her mother, and hoards food as punishment. She represents the oppressive older generation that exploits young female relatives.
