Gu Mingyan's close military comrade and self-described best brother. He came to the train station to greet Gu Mingyan upon his return from leave. He helped arrange repairs, dug a cellar, and built a bathroom at Gu Mingyan's small courtyard. He initially misunderstood a woman he saw with Gu Mingyan as being from the same carriage.
