The oldest of three educated youth, also described as the laziest. He frequently claims stomach aches and backaches to avoid field work. He recently got along with Song Qingyu and guided the old lady in coming up with the idea of reporting. He observes Song Qingshan and warns Song Qingyu, later accusing Song Qingshan of using authority for personal gain when he sees soldiers helping build the house.
