Imperial censor, father-in-law of Xu Wan Niang and father of Wang Liren. He repeatedly petitioned the emperor on Gu Tianye's behalf, believing Gu Tianye took down Baihua Tower for the people. His defiance angered the emperor, resulting in his exile. He is described as well-meaning for common folk but a burden to his own family, always ready to risk his life for principle.
