Wang Jingfang is an editor at Comic Book Daily, the largest circulated comic magazine in the country. She has been in the publishing industry for eight years. Before becoming an editor, she was a comic book enthusiast, and it was her passion that drove her to study hard and eventually pass the hiring exam. Now, however, her gaze has turned to one of judgment and reflection, making it difficult for her to read through an entire comic without interruption. She follows a strict daily routine, waking at 6:30 AM, preparing breakfast for her husband and child, and cycling to work, arriving around 8:20 AM. She receives hundreds of submissions daily and finds it challenging to discover quality work among them. When she received the thick manuscript of Chutao Yuan Village from the Naval Base Family Compound, she was immediately captivated, spending half an hour reading it without noticing. She was so impressed that she took the manuscript directly to the editor-in-chief's office.
