Wang Guifen's deceased husband, a barefoot doctor who lived from 1928 to 1963. His grave is visited at the beginning of the chapter. A bluestone tablet was carved for him by the village stonemason with funds pooled by villagers. The inscription reads Healing the Sick, Helping the World. He left behind medical texts that were later given to Shen Wangchun.
