The village chief, also referred to as Uncle Song, who tries to defuse conflicts between villagers. He recognizes Lu Huaijin's authority and announces to the crowd that Lu Huaijin is a regiment commander and Xu Niannian's rightful fiancé. He feels embarrassed by the situation and attempts to maintain order. He offers Lu Huaijin hospitality and later has a rag stuffed into Aunt Wang's mouth to silence her.
