A battalion commander who was present during the incident and later mediated between the families. He stood by the well with Yingzhang Zhao and Chen Xu. He did not stop Zhang Xia'e from speaking her mind, knowing sometimes a wife can say what a husband cannot. He is respected in the regiment and Chen Xu is expected to eventually catch up to his rank.
