Tu Long's biological father is the Duke of Country Y. He met Aunt Song while studying abroad and had a relationship with her. His family strongly disapproved of the relationship. Eventually, under family pressure or fear that his family would harm Aunt Song, they broke up. He later became the new head of his family and came to China to find his former lover, only to discover she had remarried and had another child, Tu Long. The negotiations between him and Tu Long's mother are unknown, but after this discovery, Tu Long began splitting his time between Country Y and China.
