A fourth-rank Tongzhi official and the husband of Qian Lingyue. He is from a merchant background through his marriage but holds an official rank. Qian Lingyue tried to persuade him to deceive the Emperor into accepting Xia Fengzhi, but he refused because a merchant's daughter could not be passed off as someone of higher status.
