A middle-aged man who runs a tailoring shop. He sold fabric scraps to Fan Hua for thirteen dollars (eight dollars for a bundle of scraps and five dollars for additional pieces of skirt-making remnants). He was moved by Fan Hua's pitiful story about having many sisters and being poor, and offered to sell her the materials at a lower price.
