The middle-aged man leading the group of Red Guards in grass-green uniforms who arrive to search Li's home. He announces that the family has been reported for retaining remnants of the old society and hiding gold and silver. After finding nothing during the half-hour search, he still orders Li's Father and Li's Mother to come for further investigation. He examines the newspaper and certificate of honor provided by Li's Father and finds no grounds to object.
