Qin Shi Huang, the ruler of Qin who is building his imperial mausoleum. He is cautious and calculating but becomes emotionally moved by Qing Ni's stories. He drinks erguotou heavily and begins to suspect an assassination attempt near the end of the chapter. He is the descendant of E Lai, a loyal minister to Emperor Xin.
