The husband of Madam Yang and son of the old matriarch. He is the Emperor's most trusted minister and was not yet known as the God of War at the time of the marriage arrangement. He grew weary of the constant strife between his mother and wife and turned to drinking. He was a devoted son who would never let his mother suffer any slight, but was helpless because his wife refused to listen to reason.
