Tang Wan's father. He was a well-known second-generation wealthy gentry before liberation and later became the director of the Tang family textile factory after it was converted to a state-owned factory. He was reported by others and locked up. He and his wife severed ties with their children in the newspaper to protect them. He had told his daughter about the secret underground room in the study.
