The Vice Minister of Works and younger brother of the late Sun family wife of Zhou Yuandu. He distanced himself when Zhou Yuandu was demoted, preserving his position but exposing his character. Sun Qi was appointed through his recommendation. He was later complained against at the Dali Temple for embezzlement, bribery, and selling official positions.
