Su Mo's father, a university professor from Hai City. He came from a red capitalist family. He was framed and suspended for investigation, which led to the downfall of the Su family. To protect his daughter, he publicly severed ties with her and arranged for her to be sent to the countryside as an educated youth. In the original story, he and his wife died within two years after being informed of Su Mo's death.
