Su Chi's long-ailing father who suffers from a persistent cough. The doctor in town said he must not catch a chill. After Su Chi opened half a window following Xie Yushu's advice, his father felt more comfortable and his coughing eased. He is bedridden but kept in reasonably good shape by Su Chi's dedicated care.
